Basic Sea Ranch Vocab
Gari (or Shouga) - Pickled ginger slices.
Inari - Thin fried seasoned tofu with a ball of rice inside (Vegetarian)
Kanimi - Japanese word for imitation crab sticks (made from white fish meat)
Maki Sushi - "Roll" sushi. Rice typically rolled with seaweed with various ingredients inside
Nigiri Sushi - Fish slices placed on top of a small ball of rice
Nori - Thin dried seaweed that is used to wrap the rice
Sashimi - Sushi-grade fish without rice
Sushi - Any dish made with vinegared rice
Temaki Sushi - Handrolls, where sushi is rolled in a ice-cream cone like shape.
